Columbia Sportswear commits to expanding its HERproject program to reach 150,000 workers by 2025 in Bangladesh, China, India, Indonesia and Vietnam. This growing commitment will ensure that important training and critical information on nutrition, menstrual health, maternal health, family planning and more will be delivered to women workers in their supply chain.

Columbia Sportswear Company is committed to worker health, well-being and empowerment in their global supply chain. Columbia Sportswear Company has been partnering with Business for Social Responsibility to implement HERproject, a multifaceted program that strives to empower women working in global supply chains by delivering training on health, financial inclusion and gender equality.

Since the inception of the program in 2008, Columbia Sportswear Company has impacted the lives of almost 40,000 female workers.  Collaborating with both finished goods and material suppliers, Columbia Sportswear Company plans to scale its workplace women’s health and well-being program to reach 150,000 workers, 75 percent of whom are women, by 2025 in Bangladesh, China, India, Indonesia and Vietnam, with trainings on health, financial inclusion, and gender equality through the HERproject.

Columbia Sportswear Company’s growing commitment will ensure that important training and critical information on nutrition, menstrual health, maternal health, family planning, financial literacy and anti-workplace harassment will be delivered to women workers in their supply chain.  In addition, Columbia Sportswear Company will work to enhance their program by expanding workers’ access to health, finance and anti-harassment services.  They will also link this commitment to their sourcing practices to ensure its growth and sustainability across manufacturing partners.
